We’re currently seeking passionate, high-performing hospitality professionals to help us deliver an exceptional guest experience — one that blends impeccable service with elevated cocktails and timeless atmosphere.
The ideal candidate is not only a highly skilled bartender with a passion for craft cocktails, but also an organized, proactive leader with a sharp business sense. This role is unique in that it will begin in the pre-opening phase (May 2025) and evolve into a full bar management position once we open doors (targeting late June–early July). This is an opportunity to help build something special from the ground up.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities (Starting May 2025):
- Collaborate with ownership to design and finalize the opening cocktail menu and drink program.
- Assist in establishing supplier relationships and setting up accounts with distributors.
- Quantify cost of goods sold (COGS) and assist in pricing strategy to ensure healthy margins.
- Work with ownership to configure POS systems (menu programming, modifiers, pricing).
- Source, recruit, and help train additional bar staff, cultivating a strong, hospitality-driven team.
- Assist with bar layout, station setup, equipment checklists, and general bar operations prep.
Post-Opening Responsibilities (Target Opening: Late June–Early July):
- Bartend during most operating hours (initially Thursday through Sunday, with potential for expanded hours).
- Manage all aspects of inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking usage to minimize waste.
- Oversee bar staff, including scheduling, training, and ensuring high performance standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant bar operation in line with health and safety regulations.
- Uphold and enforce all bar SOPs, ensuring consistency in drink quality and guest experience.
- Act as a culture leader—fostering a positive, respectful, and energetic work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in craft cocktail bartending; 1+ year in a leadership or bar manager role preferred
- Deep knowledge of spirits, cocktail creation, bar technique, and beverage trends
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Experience with Toast POS setup and inventory management software is a plus
- Ability to analyze and manage cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Comfortable leading a team, managing schedules, and providing mentorship
- Must be 21+ with TIPS or ServSafe Certificate required
- Food Handlers Card required
- Availability to begin part-time in May and transition to full-time by opening

As a Cocktail Server at The Brass Monkey, you’ll be the face of our guest experience. You’ll guide guests through our curated cocktail menu, provide personalized service with elegance, and ensure each guest feels like they’ve discovered something truly special. Your ability to anticipate needs, maintain composure, and exude warmth in a high-end setting will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with professionalism and discretion, creating an inviting and exclusive vibe.
- Guide guests through our cocktail and spirit offerings with expert knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Accurately take and deliver orders with precision, style, and a focus on timing.
- Build rapport with regulars and first-timers alike, offering personalized recommendations and a memorable experience.
- Collaborate closely with bartenders, hosts, and fellow servers to maintain a seamless flow of service.
- Maintain a polished, clean, and organized service area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Uphold the lounge’s aesthetic and service standards, including dress code, demeanor, and attention to detail.
- Handle payments discreetly and accurately, using the POS system and following cash-handling protocols.
- Stay up to date on seasonal cocktails, spirits, and specials.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ with legal eligibility to serve alcohol
- 1+ year experience in a high-end bar, cocktail lounge, or fine dining environment preferred
- Deep appreciation for craft cocktails, spirits, and mixology
- Professional appearance and excellent verbal communication skills
- Grace under pressure and ability to remain calm in a fast-paced setting
- Passion for hospitality, presentation, and providing exceptional guest service
- Flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays

As the first point of contact for every guest, the Host sets the tone for the entire Brass Monkey experience. This role requires a warm, engaging, and professional demeanor that reflects the character and atmosphere of the lounge. The Host manages reservations, guest arrivals, and seating flow while maintaining the ambiance and rhythm of service throughout the evening.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Reception & Ambiance
- Greet and welcome guests with charm, confidence, and genuine hospitality.
- Clearly communicate the concept, service style, and any key details of the guest experience.
- Verify reservations, check IDs as required, manage capacity, and oversee waitlists.
- Escort guests to their tables or bar seats, ensuring a seamless handoff to servers and noting any special requests or preferences.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance and demeanor that aligns with the venue’s tone and aesthetic.
Reservation & Seating Management
- Manage both reservations and walk-ins, ensuring accuracy and flow throughout service.
- Communicate time limits and house policies clearly and courteously.
- Coordinate closely with bartenders and floor staff to optimize table turnover and guest pacing.
- Track late arrivals, VIPs, and large parties to ensure smooth service adjustments.
- Uphold policies on group sizes, reservation timing, and seating assignments to maintain balance and guest satisfaction.
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the central link between guests, servers, and leadership.
- Relay guest feedback, special requests, or issues promptly to management.
- Keep the team informed of guest counts, reservation updates, and wait times throughout the night.
- Support the enforcement of house rules with consistency and professionalism.
